Listed below are all of the classes that will be raced in the 2008 season and a short description of each.  Click on each class and it will take you to the current standings for that class.

In the February Kids class races, FTEs (Faster than Ever wheels) were allowed to race by mistake according to the new rules.  This will be corrected in the March races.  The points and prizes given in February will be kept by the winners.  The winning car will race in the Super Stock class Car of the Year race in November.

Classes:

Starting with the February 08 races:

These are the classes that will race and their description:

#1 Kids ClassAnyone 15 years or younger can enter.  These cars are strictly non-modifed cars.  Cars NOT eligible in this class are the Fast Ferraris & Funnycars and any cars with the FTE (Faster Than Ever) wheels.

#2 Rookies ClassThis class is for drivers who have never raced before this year.  Drivers also visiting the race "to see what this is about" would race in this class.  Inexperienced drivers are NOT limited to this class, however.  All cars are eligible EXCEPT the Fast Ferraris & Funnycars which are now eligible in other classes and any car with the FTE (Faster Than Ever) wheels.  Anyone achieving 10 or more points in one racing season graduates from the Rookies Class being ineligible in the class for the rest of their racing career (Congratulations!).  (See the Stats 06 & Stats 07 web page for which drivers have graduated from this class).

#3 Late Model ClassAnyone can enter in this class.  These cars are strictly non-modified and have a casting date of 2005 to 2008 (new).  The casting dates will be checked by race officials prior to the races being run.  Cars with FTE (Faster Than Ever) wheels are NOT eligible in this class.

#4 Super Stock ClassAnyone can enter in this class.  These cars can be modified with wheel changes and have a casting date of 2004 or before (to 1978).  This INCLUDES all cars with FTE (Faster Than Ever) wheels.  The casting dates will be checked by race officials prior to the races being run.  Funnycars & the Fast Ferraris can race in this class while pickups/trucks and Anniversary/RedLines series cars race in there own class.

#5 Trucks ClassAnyone can enter this class.  These trucks can be modified with wheel changes.  FTE (Faster Than Ever) wheels ARE eligible in this class.  These trucks can have any casting date.  If any questions arise during pre-race setup as to whether it is eligible for the class, please see a race official.  Included in this class are pickups, trucks, ambulances, and any customs produced by the diecast companies.

#6 Redliners ClassAnyone can enter in this class.  These cars are strictly non-modified.  Cars can be from any brand, ie: Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, etc.  Also included in this class are Vintage, 25th Anniversary, 30th Anniversary cars and any "series" cars with Redline wheels.  Cars will be checked by race officials before the races.  This class is to honor the diecast car heritage.

#7 Racing ClassAnyone can enter in this class.  These cars can be modified with wheel changes.  FTE (Faster Than Ever) wheels ARE eligible in this class.  All cars with true Nascar paint schemes and actual diecast of racing cars i.e. pickups/trucks, four-doors, chevy stockers, and t-bird stockers are eligible. Funnycars and Fast Ferraris are now eligible in this class if they adhere to the racing theme.

#8 Slowpoke ClassAnyone can enter in this class.  Any car is eligible in this class.   The idea behind the class is the last car to finish its race goes on to race again.   The first 3 finishers do not.  Cars that do not finish are also out.   Cars MUST finish to go on.

Reminders of some announcements from last year:

Kids 15 and under who bring 24 cars to race at any race this year of 2008 will be given a free car from the prize table.  A race official will help with this if wanted.  We feel this will allow the kids to have access to fast cars and begin to build a garage that will be competitive in the races they enter.  This is open to all months of the year - meaning there are no limits to the free car.

A modification to the number of cars one can enter has been implemented.  Drivers can now enter 24 cars for $5.00.  We are basically awarding the driver 4 more cars to race if they enter/spend the alotted maximum cars/entry fee.  Entry price is still $.25 a car up to $5.00.
